Campanamuta is a six-part radio work about Eranova, a village in the plain of Gioia Tauro, founded in the late 19th century by rebellious peasants as a rural “utopia.”
In 1980, the village was demolished under the Democrazia Cristiana to make way for an industrial project that was never built. In the 1990s, the port of Gioia Tauro rose in its place, erasing all physical traces of the community.
The work draws on testimonies from former residents, still dispersed between San Ferdinando and Gioia Tauro.
